The AWANA program at BRBC is offered during the school year on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:00p.m. Children are divided into five different clubs based on their age / grade. We try to make it a bit easier on parents by offering all clubs within the same night and time frame.
Cubbies (ages 3-5)
Cubbies is a club for preschoolers during the two years prior to regular kindergarten, usually ages three and four. Cubbies supports parents as the primary source of spiritual nurturing by directly involving them in the teaching and learning process. Cubbies use theme related games and activities, handbooks, Bible stories and puppets to teach each night's lesson. A vest with awards provides unity and motivation for each child.
Sparks (K-2)
Sparks are children in kindergarten, first and second grades with nature as the theme in their books. Sparky, the friendly firefly, appears throughout the Bible-based materials to encourage clubbers to complete them. Each club meeting consists of a Bible lesson, time for reciting Bible verses from memory and game time with exciting games played by four teams on the Awana game circle. Vest awards and the Awana store provide added motivation. Sparks are also invited to participate in other fun activities such as the yearly Sparks nature hike and Fun Fair.
Truth & Training (3rd-6th)
Boys and girls in grades three through six have four exciting books which focus not only on Scripture memory and review but also on life application. The evening is broken into three segments with time for quoting Bible verses and interaction with leaders, a song time and Bible lesson, and games on the four color Awana circle. Extra outings are planned by the leadership during the year along with plenty of contests.
Trek (7th-8th)
Trek helps young teens hear God's Word and make it a priority. Trek gives junior highers Biblical truth with an emphasis on application in daily life. The coed program is designed to reach those who do not know God, build the believer and equip the committed for fruitful ministry. Teens are challenged with activities, Bible studies and verse memory at their level.
Journey (9th-12th)
Our high-school program, Journey, features an energetic look, biblically based content, life application and an emphasis on Scripture memory. Journey has what you’re looking for: relevant content, a strong emphasis on life application, thorough apologetics and our trademark Scripture memory—invaluable ingredients for character-shaping discipleship. These materials are challenging yet meaningful to seekers, nominal believers and fervent followers of Christ.
