Coming soon ... new classes for the Fall 2009 semester of IMPACT University!
------------------------------------------------------------
Classes from the previous semester:
January 11 - April 26, 2009
BRBC 101
Scott Sundin, Pastor
This class is a requirement for church membership, but also a great class for anyone who wants to know more about why Blue Ridge Bible Church exists as a church. In this class, Pastor Scott (our senior pastor) covers our history, our beliefs, our organization and our ministry focus. You will have an opportunity to become acquainted with the foundational doctrines of the church, become better informed about the variety of ministries going on in the church, and find a way to become better connected in the fellowship and the on-going ministries of BRBC.
The Big Plan of God
Dennis Myers, Elder
This study is focused on dispensations and prophecy. The study of dispensations involves looking at how God has worked throughout history in different ways at different times. It also recognizes the things about God's plan that are the same, all throughout history, since God Himself never changes. Prophecy is a study of the specially revealed truth of God that informs us about the days we live in, as well as His plans for the future. Throughout this class you will be digging into the Bible, learning more and more about what's going on in The Big Plan of God! Prepare to see how a proper overview of the Bible will transform the way you understand God Himself. Don't miss this one!
A Reasonable Faith
Paul VanGulick, Pastor
This class is focused on apologetics and evangelism. Christian apologetics is the logical reason for believing that the Christian faith is true, real and reasonable. It involves the studies of science, history, literature, logic, and many other disciplines, combining together to provide a clearly Christian world-view. Evangelism is teaching and presenting the gospel (good news) message of the Bible ... specifically the good news that sins can be forgiven, and man can enjoy life forever with God in heaven. So many voices would claim that Christianity is irrelevant, outdated, or mythological foolishness. Is this really true? Come to A Reasonable Faith and find out for yourself!
Remarkable Women of the Bible
leader, Julie Martel -- author, Elizabeth George
This is a ladies-only study. Come meet the Remarkable Women of the Bible. They were remarkable enough to make an impact on history and we want to learn what lessons these amazing women have for us. Scripture is selective about the women it mentions so it's more than noteworthy to have a look at the women who were noteworthy to God. Some are directly related to our Savior, Jesus Christ, and ALL of them will cause us to think about something bigger than ourselves.
What would you do, for instance, in a foreign land faced with certain death? You would laugh too, if someone said you would be a mother at age 90. What if you were asked to be a leader? Would you risk death to give life to your child and then put your entire family at risk to save the child's life? Would you hide spies and risk your life to save complete strangers? We will learn together many new and fascinating things about the faithful women who God used to set examples for us in history.
